Supporting users in the process of finding the right information from the vast and growing amounts of available digital material (structured or unstructured) is an open challenge. For this purpose, techniques from the area of Information Retrieval, Semantic Data Management, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning and others are required. In this workshop, we discussed the issue of access and search. There will be an introduction to information access models, we will see principles and examples of exploratory search, such as methods for faceted search engines, Named Entity Recognition, Preference support ( Preferences), Summarization of search results, Dialogue Systems, Question Answering, and finally we focused on access and search services on semantic data. The workshop included presentations by the participants and a discussion with the aim of drawing conclusions for the effective support of users in accessing and searching for information related to the field of humanities.
