This collection constitutes an important part of what was Samuel Schwarz's library, with characteristics that make it unique in Portugal. It is composed of three large sections: the first, more numerous, is made up of modern editions, published between the years 1800 and 1953, the date of the death of Samuel Schwarz; the second consists of a set of old monographs, printed between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries; finally, a third nucleus consists of a set of books in the Hebrew language, interspersed with copies in Yiddish.
