The DARIAH-DE „Forschungsdaten-Förderationsarchitektur" (DFA) is the term for services and tools that enable research data and collection descriptions to be found from various sources, such as cultural institutions, libraries, archives, research facilities, and data centers, and used for analysis.
In the DARIAH-DE Repository research data can be published, long-term stored and thus be made accessible to other researchers.
The Generic Search is a distributed metasearch on collections and resources deposited in DARIAH registries irrespective of their data and metadata schemes. It establishes and follows semantic links between structurally distinct collections and their concrete resources. This is achieved by means of crosswalks which connect not only data elements from different data formats and standards, but also map data types and values.
The Collection Registry is a simple web application that holds information about research collections relevant for arts and humanities research. A collection description stored in the collection registry contains general information such as the location and access points of the collection. It may also contain specific metadata such as e.g. a spatial or temporal coverage of the entities.
The Data Modelling Environment is a graphical tool for researchers in the arts, humanities and social sciences to link different metadata standards stored in the schema registry. This assignment allows an automated translation from one data schema to another. For this reason, the Crosswalk Registry is the ideal way to search for different collections.
