The workshop is organized in the framework of DARIAH's Humanities at Scale project, as a cooperation between The Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research and University of Zagreb University Computing Centre - SRCE. Presenters and workshop managers were prominent experts from a variety of educational, scientific and heritage institutions, as well as lawyers from Croatia, Austria and Denmark. The workshop has been intended for humanistic scientific community, as well as for GLAMs institutions to which the ethical and legal issues related to open access are some of the essential issues they need to resolve. The aim of the workshop was to familiarize participants with the topic issues and show them how to cope with and how to resolve some concrete ethical and legal eventualities. The idea was also to develop an interest in the field and find a few experts to join the team for establishing a new DARIAH working group, which would be dealing with this issues in the future. That links the workshop with the goals of the D2.7 (DARIAH Ethical Strategy).
